Daisy Kennedy worked as a cook, first for Bernard and Annie Baruch, and later for their daughter Belle.

In 1929 the Kennedys bought a house in Georgetown so the children could attend school there. During the week they lived with their grandmother in Georgetown, while Daisy and William Kennedy continued to work for the Baruchs at Hobcaw Barony.
